Maple Mountain Sugarhouse – Organic, Pure Vermont Maple Syrup

The year is 1991, and as he walked amongst the maple trees of his newly acquired acreage in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, Lyman Gilman began to develop a clear vision for the future of his land — a vision that could only be achieved through hard work, consistency, and an unwavering commitment to doing things the right way, even when it’s not the easiest way.

Now, 30 years later, Lyman’s “labor of love” continues to support his vision — to create the finest, 100% organic, pure Vermont maple syrup.

About the Farm

Sitting on a sprawling, 168-acre sugarbush in Vermont’s legendary Northeast Kingdom, Maple Mountain Sugarhouse is still owned and operated by Lyman. In fact, he’s solely responsible for the 2500-3000 gallons of syrup that is produced by the farm each year. As Lyman puts it, he “caught the bug” decades ago, and he hasn’t looked back since.

What Makes Our Syrup Special?

Ask any of his loyal customers, and you’ll get answers ranging from “no one works harder,” to “Lyman is magical.” These may be valid points, but there is a science and an artform behind the syrup at Maple Mountain Sugarhouse.

Asset 7

The Land

Sitting at 1500-ft above sea level, Maple Mountain is known to produce intense flavors in its syrup, which may be attributed to its high elevation.

Asset 2

A Love for the Land

All operations are governed by a deep, enduring love for the trees and mountains that make it all possible. Since the beginning, the land has been tended using responsible and sustainable forestry methods. The idea is simple — take care of the land, and it will take care of you.

Asset 6

Wood-Fired

The caramelization, flavor, and complexity of the syrup from Maple Mountain Sugarhouse can be attributed in part to the wood-fired machines used to create the product. While more difficult and time-consuming, this artisanal method doesn’t just create a better syrup, it’s also a sustainable practice that benefits the land.

Asset 3

100% Organic

No artificial sweeteners, no added fillers, and created using only all-natural ingredients from the Maple Mountain Sugarhouse farm.

Asset 5

Hand-Made

For decades, every drop of pure Vermont maple syrup has been artisanally crafted by Lyman himself. There is no substitute for the work of a master craftsman, and you can taste the difference.

Asset 4

Passion and Commitment

After more than 25 years living and breathing Vermont maple syrup, Lyman has perfected his craft. Every time you open a jug of Maple Mountain Sugarhouse syrup, you are opening a work of art that was created specifically for your satisfaction. Enjoy!
